Perfomance with this Mod
Hey, I'm soon getting my own computer and I have been wondering on how the minecraft performance is gonna be on it. I'm planning on getting a Ryzen 5 7600 and a RTX 4070S, will that be good enough for playing with this mod at high chunks/settings with shaders? If not I also have the Ryzen 7 7800XD in mind.
Thanks in advance!

To edit the config, press the button next to the FOV slider to edit the config.
The config file found in .minecraft/config/DistantHorizons.toml
Yes, it will be good enough
And how good is "good enough"? Do you have an idea?
i have a 4070 and at 196 chunks with shaders it can manage 60-75 fps at extreme quality settings
hmm, what CPU?
i7 12700k
are you able to show me how 196 chunks look?
I'm on a 3070ti and I get about 100 FPS with shaders, a 180 mods modpack and Discord + another Minecraft Instance + Code Editor running in the background
wow, what chunks and what CPU?
128 Render Distance and a Ryzen 7 5800X
nicee, i think my 7600 can take it then :)
time to load the chunks and lod for mine is
radius : 128
time: ~17:10
17 minutes? ðŸ«
I have 13900k with 4080,
I use RD of 1024, quality preset medium with vertical quality high and use shaders with custom settings
I manage to get 60 fps
Generation time for 1024 on my PC is over 12 hours (then I gave up, and rest loaded during gameplay)
oof, that’s a lot of time
but then again 1024 RD 💀ðŸ˜
everyone flexing everything but their loading times: 💀
just realised the OP is getting a pc similiar to what imma get soon
this is with a radius of 512 and about 1hr and 20min of loading
at extreme quality
ig i play alot so i dont even realise lods take alot of time lol
can you send me your shader config? i get way lower fps and i have a 4070ti.
What resolution tho
My 7600x took about 24 hours to generate a 1024 chunk render radius running at 5.45 GHz
So it should be about the same for you unless your cpu is throttling
my 7800x3d took 30 minutes
3440x1440
I’m using photon shaders at basically stock settings I also play 1440p
vanilla worldgen?
i'm on 21:9
that might have smthn to do with it
Tectonic + Terralith
my worldgen was so unbelievably slow with that. like 1024 chunk radius takes over 8 hours for me.
using lithosphere instead of tectonic, same issue.
why can’t you say the d word ðŸ˜
ok nvm
i mean that isn’t too bad ig
i might be getting a 7800X3d rather than a 7600X now though
ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ thank god i’m not playing on 1024 RD
If I were you I’d just wait for ryzen 9000
and when should that be?
i didn’t want to wait too long but if it’s soon i can wait
It will launch on 31 July
@TheNewSky could u share what terraingen optimization mods you are using?
Just noisium
oh no ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ that’s way too late 😔
7800x3d will be faster than any of their 9000 series
7800x3d will be slightly better at gaming than the non x3d 9000 series but that’s expected bc 3d v-cache is just that good
Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think the 3d v-cache is that important for Minecraft specifically
x3d series will come later on, not worth waiting
yeah but i don't really wanna wait that long
i meann, this shows that it's important ig
