Time for a new recurring TOTD, the collections series! The collections series is pretty self explanatory: show off your collection, write about any specific pieces you want to highlight, talk about any gaps, and comment on each others. Starting with shoes... let's see em!

ah my time to shine and im away from my collection for the next several weeks ðŸ˜
I'll post my little shoe shelf to kick off! This is probably about approximately 1/3 of the shoes I own ðŸ«
Not pictured: 2 more pairs of cons, several running / sporty shoes, hiking boots, beater suede chelseas, 3 pairs of more formal shoes for suiting occasions, some sandals, a few plimsol type beats, and steely toe work shoes

My modest collection. In 2021, I had a sizing revelation and learned I had been sizing down for years. Basically let go of everything I had at the time. Slowly been acquiring more shoes since then.
This is really comforting to me. I have like 9 pairs if You count my flip flops and have been asking myself if I maybe have to many
I think my biggest gapp currently are non-boots
some derbys or smth
at the same time I feel very unmotivated to buy them

As someone who really likes shoes, I'm going to say it's never too many
the biggest gap in my shoe collection is most certainly a lack of guidis
This on the other hand feels motivating lol. Not that I have the money rn
@Evane 's recent fit battle showing off the michaels in cow fur has slightly micro influenced me in that regard

My advantage is living in germany, so at least I don't have to pay extra duties and could try them on with free shipping. But they are still expensive
Alden makes up a large portion of my collection. GYW was a big part in shaping my initial shoe purchases. I am happy with my colleciton and have really haven't been buying many more shoes. I probably want some rare shell LHS or Long Wings to round out my collection.
My Østmo boots are proably my favorite and special pair. Lars let me pick up specs and they are his 143rd pair.
If I ever end up in texas my bank account is in severe danger

2 years ago I got rid of all my shoes except for a couple pairs of docs. Cop freeze ended this year and ive been buying v slowly but ik ill be refilling my shoe rack before the end of this year lmao

Actually my ~7 yr old hiking shoes gave out last week so I got the whole bottom row to replace them (bought for practicality but I'll see what I can do with them)
Naturally I'd like to get 1. loafers 2. Derbies or such. But they'll need to fit snug and be affordable so it might be some time before I do... and meanwhile I'll probably also buy some more boots cuz they look cool. More sneakers would be nice but I think I need to learn the sneaker visual language first 🙂

Question for y'all: What would you add and subtract from this?
I'd ditch the Meermin loafers and one of the pairs of winter boots. I'd like to upgrade the black boots. I think some black converse high tops would be a nice addition. So would a pair of NB99x, in spite of swearing I never would. I'd like some casual-ish brown boots, but whenever I look at the Red Wing blacksmiths, they don't quite do it for me.

I feel like the loafers match your style. Loafers in general, anyone's really but more so if you can be anywhere near Ivy... I was surprised you don't have black loafers, though maybe that's a misconception.
There's so many boots where do you (we) even start choosing? Maybe the Red Wings are not the most exciting but they look neat ...

I’m not sure I subscribe to the philosophy that anyone needs red wings unless they really work in an environment that requires sturdy boots
Fair fair. Red Wings are the default boot regardless here I feel like, but I'm around some people who do need work boots; actually I regularly hear the complaints that Red Wing isn't tough enough! Personally I've got a history of owning surplus shoes and currently have those Soviet Navy ones... I'm used to sturdy!
I want the fun footwear I get that's not going to hold up to as much to be something light. Probably not boots 😛

I’m in the process of moving to Europe, so a lot of my footwear is packed up, or in the process of getting sorted and packed. I couldn’t include a proper collection due to the timing, since a bunch are in boxes already. With very, very few exceptions (that I’m probably gonna sell or donate), I wear and rotate all my shoes and boots. Obviously, there are a couple of new boots that I haven’t had the chance to wear due to current life circumstances and the big move, as you can see from the photo, but rest assured, those sonsa guns are gonna get their fair dos…. I’m a gremlin and I’m often on the go, so I wear my my boots and shoes hard at times. My errand shoes are a few months old, and they’re already starting to wear out, even though I use a shoe horn ðŸ˜
If you got a specific budget, and know what you like, I might be able to hunt down something for you.

Right now its not a priority and the main Issue is that Im in europe and getting stuff here is always a bit of a pain.
