Possible to set "controller_fan" to always run at idle_speed?

I have a v-minion with a electronics box mounted to the printer. There is one fan in the box to cool the skrat board and the Raspberry. The fan uses stock config, so it is a controller_fan which powers on when the steppers are on. So my question is, is there a way to let the fan always idle for cooling the pi? I would like to let the fan run at, lets say 50%, but when starting a print it should act like a normal "controller_fan".

I already read that. My problem is that when powering the printer on, idle_speed and idle_timeout dont apply because first the steppers must be on and when I would use temperature_fan insted of controller_fan it is hard to make sure the fan to run at 100% when printing and so that it is not too loud when it is not printing. So my questin is there a workaround or a different way to set the fan always to a specific fan_speed but when printing to 100%?

No, those are the controls you have for a controller_fan. Probably better to have a dedicated fan for cooling the pi and just use one of the always on fan ports

in the main v-minion chat one of the guys of Ratrig (i think) suggested to me to do: [controller_fan controller_fan] fan_speed: 0.5 in the printer.cfg overrides (near the end) i also thought it was too loud lol. going to do the same for the hotend fan probably

be careful of heat creep since that small fan is the only thing keeping your plastic from melting prematurely and getting stuck in the hotend

yeah i know, but thank you thing is; i got 4 other printers none of them run their hotend fan 100%, never had heatcreap issues albeit; 3 of them are vorons and run dragons (on swapped to rapido2 lately) and one is a prusa bear with a classic v6 (which is most comparable to a dragonfly i think?) i did a little digging into the ratOS stuff; [controller_fan controller_fan] fan_speed: 0.5 [toolhead_cooling_fan toolhead_cooling_fan] fan_speed: 0.7 should be right then? or does the toolhead fan have a different name which should be used to call it?

you should start your own post, then we can discuss it more
