Hand Washing?

So I just picked up a nice new sweater from Uniqlo for Black Friday, and balked when I gave the washing instructions a glance. It says hand wash cold, dry flat. That or take it to the dry cleaners which hah, no. I've never hand washed clothes in my life. How much of an absolute pain in the ass is this going to be?

Looking back through the search history, I guess there's a distinction between wool and other materials? The sweater is nylon, acrylic, cotton, and spandex.

With that material composition and it being from uniqlo and presumably fairly cheap you can prolly wash it in a garment bag on delicate in the machine. I'd lay flat to dry still tho. Also, it might get ruined, hard to say

Hand washing really isn't too hard, put it in a clear bucket with woolite, gently swish around a bit, rinse a couple times, then dry

I also like Soak detergent--doesn't require rinsing

Well, good to know it's that simple at least, thanks.

Yeah I just hand wash wool sweaters in the tub with a bit of shampoo. Takes a bit of time and thick ones take forever to dry but not hard at all.

I've been washing a lot of sweaters recently, several of which are labeled "hand wash / dry clean only". I recommend you get a drying rack and some Woolite at Target. Wash the sweater separately on delicate cycle, and dry it on the rack, making sure nothing is dangling over the side which could stretch it out.
