Exchange Iron Rangers?
My iron rangers from backcountry just came in the mail and a) have the below blemish & b) weren’t the cork sole pair that I ordered (they’re a vibram sole which I’m not complaining about). I don’t care as much about the soles, but is it worth exchanging these based on the blemish or am I overanalyzing?

If they were sold as new and your size is till in stock, I would exchange them.
I'd return if you can't get the blemish out. You're going to see that mark every time you put them on, and if you're second guessing yourself now, it'll probably annoy you every time you see it
I would definitely send them back.
If the tongue is punched thru with a hole, they are 2nds quality, so it's part of the deal.
RIP
Confirmed they aren’t seconds and Backcountry is sold out so they can’t exchange
Sad life 😔
I just wanna chime in and say this will bother you now but once you've been wearing them for a while you won't care at all
They're gonna pick up their own scuffs and marks and I bet eventually you won't even know this mark is there
This is the part I had been struggling with - just not sure how impactful it’ll be in the long term, even if it bothers me short term. Their customer service chat wasn’t helpful, but I called into their phone line & they issued me a $90 credit & are letting me keep the boots. Essentially getting them for $180, so I’ll suck it up 🤷🏻♂️
From the picture it looks like this is less of a scuff and more of a scar/mark on the leather that happened before the skin was processed
if that's the case then you could just look at it as added character
I’d just hit the boots with a little leather cleaner and a little conditioner to even it out and then wear the shit out of them so it starts to just become part of the character
Iron rangers are (styled after) work boots so they look better worn in anyways
I'd keep them, they'll get marks and stuff like that thru normal wear. It does kinda suck that they are new factory firsts and have that but it will be fine with some wear and character
