Upgrading from lgx to orbiter and doing the toolhead upgrade I have underextrusion
Hello, I am a bit clueless here on what could go wrong here. I have default Generig PETG profile from superslicer and am trying to do some calibrations but it prints horrible. Don't know what it could be but it looks like the nozzle drags through the previous layer.
Any idea is more thrn welcome 🙏

This seems under extrusion, dit you change your config to use the orbiter config instead of the lgx?
I did
Seems to be correct indeed. I would take of the orbiter and try to extrude 100mm and check if it is 100mm. Otherwise there could be a clog in your hotend.
what do you mean take off the orbiter and extrude 100mm?
just push through?
guess you mean the steps?
So remove the orbiter from it mount. The. You extrude until you see filament. You mark it at the bottom, then you request klipper to extrude 100mm. When done you mark it again. Then you extrude a bit more and cut it off. Then measure between the marks. If it's 100mm, then it could be your hotend
well, I did it bit a bit diferent
measured from top of orbiter where the filament goes in, measured 100mm. then I went to ratos gui and selected filament length 100mm in extruder and I hit extrude
when he was done extruding I measured again from top of orbiter where the filament goes in till the mark
I have done it 2-3 times and every time I still have left 40-42 mm
so it's clear that he is only extruding like 60
temperature is 240 so it can't be that he is skipping cause of flow
I figured out what was the problem
it was in the extruder part I had set up this
rotation_distance: 7.8 ##### E stepps
This was from previous config for lgx
Line 395?
You shouldn't need to mess with that at all
well, it was coming from 1.2 days 🙂
I merged my configs with the ones from 2.0
to make sure I don't lose settings
back then I had to adjust it for lgx
cause it was extruding more then needed if I remember correctly
Yeah, you aren't following the directions. All that stuff should be in user overrides section
hmmm
You have it all over the place
Order matters A LOT
you do have a point
I will make sure to move things around
should be 2 min work
but you are the man again 🙂
I would start fresh (copy over the template) and then only put stuff you need in the user overrides section
I do with I had more time on my hands to play withthings 🙂
I do have the template backed up
will follow your advice
and again, thanks lots
it's really appreciated
No, I mean the Rat-OS template
