Your uniform / template - Topic of the day 11/1/23
Do you have a "uniform" - an outfit that you wear all the time, or see yourself going back to when you can't think of anything to wear? If you had to only wear one outfit for the rest of your life, what would your uniform be?
(manual post today because the bot messed up the image - hopefully he does a better job tomorrow!)

i pretty much lived in this for the last two years but after rapidly wearing more baggier fits just in the last month alone i think the pants here already look too slim 💀
I used to settle into just denim and a tee or henley shirt but I'm trying to switch it up more this FW and wear my various button-ups more regularly. I'm WFH so it's v easy to just slum it all day every day esp now that I have physical therapy sessions mid-day. Hard to get the motivation to put together a fit if I'm just going to wear it in the house and then take it off around noon
Jeans, navy/blue/black polo shirt. MFA has helped me shake it up a lot, but damn it's hard to put together a cute outfit every day.
Post covid it’s some variation of these 3 depending on just how lazy I’m feeling. I WFH as well so it’s really easy to fall back into wearing sweats day to day which I try to avoid
4.0 but with salomons instead of common projects, and usually black or graphic tee
like others have said, WFH makes it easy, and it's easy even for office
That mustard chore coat is hot
ty it’s the monitaly italian jail jacket and is my favorite thing right now
That’s sick. To stay on topic: I wouldn’t say I have a uniform, but working from home it’s super easy to fall back on denim, boot, jacket.
For me, I wouldn't want to wear a uniform all the time, I find the concept very limiting, kinda like having a capsule wardrobe. Still, if I had to select a uniform for myself it'd probably be a graphic tee (been really enjoying ones with vintage national parks vibes lately), mid wash jeans, chunky NBs, and a faded baseball cap. It's not the most exciting outfit but it's comfortable and laid back, which I enjoy.
(the goofy grin is also part of my uniform)
Yeah a capsule wardrobe sounds like my worst nightmare. The grin is the best part of your uniform btw
this is my struggle. It's very hard trying to merge minimalism and fashion cz I do have a capsule wardrobe and it makes things a lot harder
Currently it's very much just variations of this fit. Super comfortable, layering makes it versatile for both fall and winter, and enough details to keep me from feeling bored of my looks. My overshirt/jacket thing feels like a centrepiece in my wardrobe, and the fact it's reversible allows for more variation.
Typically I'll either wear only a t shirt underneath on warmer days or wear one of a few sweaters on colder days. I have a few hats and pants I switch around that I enjoy as well. I can't complain about my wardrobe for my current lifestyle, but that's going to change next year which means my wardrobe will undoubtedly change too.
this is like the shittiest pic ever but it’s just this atm
comfy and relatively warm
Not gonna be warm enough soon though lol
if i had to wear only 1 outfit, it'd be a plain tee shirt with denim - pretty much what i wear like 90% of the time outside of work or the gym. shoes are usually aj1/onitsuka tigers/converse.
I'm actively going out of my way right now not to have just one uniform. In the 2010's I feel like it was Casual Button down + jeans + sneakers/mocs/boots. Add a jacket if it's cold, swap jeans for shorts if it's warm.
Then I moved to a place with no seasons, locked down for a few years, and came out and discovered I'm old and my shit was fully unfashionable now. Still trying to figure out what my style is because I don't just want to wear the same thing all the time.
is that the +j bomber?
Ya
have the same one, it’s very nice but i’m not styling it very well
Honestly same and kind of wish I had it in black but the subtle green color is interesting to me
black is too plain, it looks like any other black bomber. the stoney grey color is a lot better
i wouldn't call it a uniform but it's really easy for me to slip into flannel shirt + cords mode come late summer/early fall. until i snap out of it when it starts getting like really cold.
i did have a bit of a uniform/capsule wadrobe during the late 2000s, mostly out of necessity/lack of moneys and space. it was graphic tee/levis/chucks plus whatever thrifted jacket/sweater depending on the weather. it was not fun and would rather not go back to that
Unfortunately unironically wear BB 1 / 3 to work bc dress code, but off clock find myself defaulting to old denim jacket w fatigues & boots, varying the base layer
said jacket & fatigues:
What bomber is that? I've been looking for a jacket like that, specifically for layering over hoodies/sweatshirts
Uniqlo +J MA1 Blouson
Should be able to find second hand
I’ve been wearing a lot of ocbd + denim + loafers lately. Glad it’s getting cold because I can break out some cold weather pieces.
