hey everyone whats your opinion on replicas???
so I feel like theyre getting better and better and more close to the real thing would any of you buy a rep or are you against them??
I personally think its fine as long as you admit it to it being fake.

Not my style.
My problem with reps is that 99% of the time it's cosplaying a wealth signifier that you can't afford, so why bother?
Different story is high quality replicas (not 1:1) of old surplus
Like Margiela GATs
Agree, that’s the exception.
Having fake stuff just doesn't sit right with me, even if nobody else can tell. But if that's your thing, you do you.
If you have a rep because you like the style and it's out of reach that's cool, but nobody's buying a handbag rep or a fake off-white collab because "they like the style"

theres some film prop replicas i'm very tempted to get. otherwise not interested
yeah what kind of replica lol
I have a few, like replicas of 40s clothes
I have a knockoff soccer
Depends on the honesty of what it is. You can knock off a style without copying branding, and you can make a high quality item of a similar style to another item without being an outright replica. I suggest that any maker that makes high quality goods might rip off a design but they'll probably still put their own twists on it because why wouldn't they? It's all gray area legally and morally, case by case. Outright copies and fakes are pretty lame.
I used to buy ultraboost replicas of some unusual colourways. They felt the same for walking compared to a real one I got later
I did but a few rep streetwear hoodies but didn't end up wearing as I found I don't like logos or loud graphics
Ended up getting into mesnwear and Japanese workwear but the reps did contribute to my clothes interests
I bought a fake second hand blue Burberry's scarf the other day, not knowing it was a fake. I was not aware real ones would be much, much more expensive. Now I don't know if I should wear it: I don't like to wear fakes ad I don't really care about the brand. On the other hand the branding is not very overt and I like the look
If you like the look then wear it
Personally, there is a large difference between copying a style and trying to pass of something as being from a different brand. Any design is obv. copying because to a certain extent, we are all standing on the shoulders of giants. The border between passing of and being inspired by something however is fluid
