What do you mean by that
False notion
no brand is old money or new money
old money buys what they like
HELL YEAH
LORO PIANA
BRUNO CUCELLI
WALMART
OLLLLLLD MOOOOONEY BABYYYYYY
Lol they are selling a whole bunch of brunello cucunelli sportjackets at TJ Maxx
oh is that what the brand is actually called lmao
most people who say this mean some mix of ivy, trad, riviera, and golden age film looks. don't say old money if you want real answers
I think I misspelled the second half lol
employ a tailor inhouse
I would have unironically considered copping one if they were in my size but they were still $500
tj maxx selling anything for $500 makes my eyebrow twitch
bellevue goodwill was selling a chaps blazer for $40
there u have it
1 cucinelli blazer is worth 10 chaps blazers
I mean I think they are worth that price new but I don't like the connotations of someone thinking I shop brunello cucinelli 😂
Real old money dresses in crumpled to fuck LL Bean
What are some example of “old money aesthetic” to you?
the real inheritance is genetic for the habsburg boys
I have a jacket of theirs, it's great. (Didn't pay $500 but after taxes and tailoring the fix the total fucking hack job some idiot did it cost me like $300.) Most people don't know the brand and those who do are highly unlikely to identify it by eye, but beyond that, who cares? If you like it, wear it. Though even at $500 down from MSRP of >$2000 I am not sure the value proposition is there for you, but it's surely there for someone.
if you actually mean ivy, then my favourite would have to be Ralph Lauren
J.Press, O'Connell, and Mercer & Son's. The former two are amongst the last brands making "sack suits".
Just inherit a bunch of your grandfathers old Neapolitan tailoring and get it recut to fit you, it worked for Lapo Elkann.
