V-core3-Octopus 1.1 -Pi 3a+ Ratos 2.02 : stops printing randomly #solved
Hi all,
This printer has been running about 2000 h.
It started to stop at various height (tried different prints), without any error message.
It seem to just reboot completely.
I've upgraded from Ratos 1 to 2.0, reinstalled.
Same bug !?!
Only thing I did yesterday was change the Rapido nozzle, very carefully.
I wish I knew how to diagnose klipper.log ....

I don't see anything useful in the logs. Have you changed anything recently besides the nozzle?
Nope....
Exact same gcodes run smoothly on her sisters
and they are also running ratos?
Same machines, same Ratos now (it was the last Ratos 1 in the team).
What do you look for in the log to diagnose ?
I look for error messages. The only weird thing I see is a bunch of
null
bytes. I suspect your SD is just wearing out. Have you tried a different SD card?I've flashed a new SD going from Rats 1 to 2, but I'll check that anyway. You're right, SD cards can be a pain
Ok : brand New SD card (write 60, read 65/sec)
Same bug, it just reboots 🤨
well, if everything is working fine on other machines, makes me thing something hardware is at fault. Have you tried swapping a working PI with the one that keeps rebooting?
Good idea. Will try that. Thx 😉
I've swapped the PI 3A+ (I have them running on most of my printers) of this printer with another that works on another printer. I now get this message, just after primeblob "Unable to read tmc uart 'stepper_x' register DRV_STATUS "
on one restart, it gave me the same message on extruder driver
I've updated another one on ratos 1. Same bug. Lack of compute power from the 3a+ ?
OK, here was the thing : I updated ratos, incl moonraker, on sept 13. Pi 3A+ were overloaded. I then remembered this tip from miklschmidt https://discord.com/channels/582187371529764864/1092548862671065159/1092780438717726781
I also re updated moonraker, all running smoothly now.
