I made my reddit username NotGreenWaluigi for reasons i no longer remember. When i joined discord people shortened it to luigi when talking to me and then weeg so i just kinda ran with it. It is now 5 years later and i feel goofy about having a cutesy discord name especially cause someone once called me weeg in person but im pretty much stuck with it
“Malti” literally means “Maltese”
Malta is such a tiny country (around half a million natives), that with a username like this, other Maltese people are bound to notice/run into you
Initially it was my username when playing CoD4 and other shooter games back in the day, but I just stuck around with it

My username is my old WoW name I went by starting ~2010. I made my Reddit name under it and never bothered to pick a new username after I stopped playing. It's just kind of a part of me at this point
i originally went by "monopoly", which was eventually shortened to "mono", but mono is already taken everywhere hence "citizenmono", a version that is never taken and thus belongs to me online.

literally the next day a friend in my class came in extremely excited and handed me a comic book he'd found at a used bookstore that evening, which was called Mike Danger. it was pretty bad but I've used the username ever since

Used to lurk on reddit (including MFA) without a username. Eventually got up the courage to make a throwaway and ask a question in the daily thread. I was considering buying a suede jacket that would've been my largest clothes purchase ever and wanted a second opinion. Still have both the jacket and the username.
Unfashionable_me was because it was a fashion alt, and I created it ages ago and am incapable of showing self confidence.
Smiles is a much better story, where back when I was like in elementary school, the bus was elementary schoolers and middle schoolers. I would just spend a lot of time smiling listening in on the older kids and they started calling me smiles cause of it. Maybe they were trying to bully me, my memory is too hazy to really remember, but when I was rebranding from another edgy username (anarky, I was young when I made that one) I made it my new go-to username. Others here wanted an easier to say/abbreviate name than unfashionable_me so I made my name it here as well.
