ItemsAdder / BetterRanks - Pixelated
Hi there. I'm trying to add a custom emoji as a prefix however i'm having trouble getting it to not be pixelated. I've tried with and without a gradient + Different colour layers to no avail. Any help at this point is valuable.. I've kept the emoji height to 9px as pointed out in the IA wiki.

I don't know exactly how IA does it, since I use oraxen
but im 99% sure that you got the resolution wrong when making the textures
or, if IA is like oraxen internally, there are options that define how wide/tall the texture should be ingame, and those don't match the textures that look pixel-ated
I followed this wiki page. Length doesn't matter but height should be 9px which i've kept.
How did you make the textures
Using adobe illustrator
there's the export settings
gay dragon??
It's an internal joke.
if you made it in photoshop (or similar), there may have been an option to change the resampling mode from whatever the default is to
nearest neighbor
Nearest Neighbor is what you want for pixel art (like this)
I dig itCustom user prefix, not group prefix too
I've not used illustrator, but if it has anything like this, look into it
i can set the ppi i think but thats about it
set Anti-Aliasing to Noneon some adobe community question from a while ago maybe try that
i think that's worse lol
if you open the image just normally
is it blurry?
If so, its illustrator messing things
if no, its IA messing things
yeah its blurry
quickly remaking it in photoshop
I'd help, but I really only have used affinity photo and a bit of photoshop
For photoshop, change the resampling mode to nearest neighbor
GAY DRAGON
Yeah photoshop looks just as bad with nearest neighbour enabled
what did you have image interpolation set to
I think that needs to be nearest neighbor too
preferences -> general -> image interpolation
bicubic
no good
just changed it to nearest neighbour.. no difference
why does it look blurry before you export?
wait, are you using the pencil tool and drawing letters?
Or are you using photoshop's text thing
Photoshop's Text
oh, thats why
text is going to be anti aliased
Anyway to anti-antil alias lol
I can't draw text
idk if this is relevant, but idk
https://senpai.plz-choke.me/YkulET7K
erm.
you might just have to draw a font you like
then just copy/paste letters for your ranks
grrrr
thats what I ended up doing
are gradients usable atleast on the background?
I never tried it, but I don't see why not
could also maybe try this: https://fontenddev.com/fonts/enter-command/
Looks like a nice 7px tall font
@Shifty / Arlo
not readable at all
well you've squeezed a 7px tall font down to 6px tall
blame photoshop alright xD
lmao
Just take the forehead from 2px to 1px, and it might look alright
how do i do that?
Idrk, I only ever briefly used photoshop
Id try just dragging the top bound up until the text occupies 7 (vertical) pixels instead of 6
that looks promising?
Hopefully
export it and see if its blurry
if not, then you should be good to go ingame
Omg I'm sorry but gay dragon
dude if you have nothing good to contribute fuck off.
This is a support forum
Yeah I know I have nothing to contribute but it's so random
i think that's the best we're gunna get
Maybe try a gradient on the background
could look good
and play with other fonts, too
that was the original plan
Thats just one I found with a quick google search
CBA tbh. might stick with that enter command. its the only font that works so far
Thanks for all your help ❤️
