Part Cooling fan doing what it wants
So Yesterday my part cooling fan started to do whatever he wants. i got my fan speed at 45% after 3 layers in Prusa. But since yesterday it does what it wants in RatOs it says that its at 45% but the fan isnt turned on. If i manually adjust the speed it takes between 10-30 seconds before anything happens. Im not quite sure what happened because i havent changed anything.

what kind of fan?
4028 standart that comes with the v3.1 kit
its weird that never happened before and it just started. i thought maybe it is because its only set at 45% and i normally have it at 50% but that would be stupid no ?
I don't have a 4028 - but from what I understand this can be normal. I will let someone who has your specific 4028 chime in
ok . i tested it manuall and 30% works. maybe its the gcode ill try something else
@blacksmithforlife 🇺🇸 i just realized in the console it says the whole time Invalid M204 command "M204 P10000" or M204 P 15000
well, yeah that isn't helping
oh man i think i found the problem G code flavor was rep rap before i used marlin 2 not quite sure why it changed
is there a way to factory reset RatOS
re-install it to a SD card
ok becasue something is very wrong
so i dont know what happend, but now the fan doesnt turn on at all manually. when i set it to a 100% it only spins up when i home the printer ????
sounds like bad wiring
it worked for 112h tho, ill check tomorrow but not sure how it would gone bad
wires break, connections come loose, etc
yeah ill check tomorrow hopefully just a loose connection
the cable to the negative of the terminal was loose. I fixed that and it worked for a couple of minutes, but now it does the same shit as before.
its sort of fixed i didnt do anything but it works now
but now the fan goess frim 50 to 70 constantly could that be because of wrong pwm frequenzy ?
@Helge Keck do you have any idea why my fan isnt constantly at the same speed? like it sounds like it switches between the speed i want and turning off
you need to share more infos if you expect some help
printer.cfg
a photo of the fan wiring
...
i can do that
which cables are from the fan?
the right circle is the VCC one, left circle is PWM and on the negative terminal is GND
i dont see the GND
its on HE3- its hard to see
try cycle_time: 0.00004
ok will do. anything else that might be obvious, but i dont see
should work normaly
oh what i forgot when i do it manually it stays at the same speed
assuming you didnt fried the controller baord of the fan it should work
i dont think i did it worked for 110 h and i havent changed anything so i hope i didnt
i dont think its the issue, but you could try to use different ports
for VCC, PWM and GND
@Helge Keck do I need to redefine anything if I switch ports
yes, you need to change the pins in the config
but only for PWM and GND
ok will try that
yeah i cant get it to work again. i dont know what im doing wrong. the fan works when i home the printer but not when i use it normally. on the octopus the leds above the ports are on which indicates that the ports work so im not sure whats going on
probably a bad cable
yeah im in the process of removing the fan. ill resolder the cable connections
@Helge Keck @blacksmithforlife 🇺🇸 thank you both alot. after a couple hours and 2 mental breakdowns I got it fixed and the fan even works now below 30% before that it didnt
