Linear Rail damaged?
While disassembling my eva 3 i found what's looking like metal shavings on my x axis linear rail. It looks like a coating coming off.
If i move over those shaving very gently with a metal tool, there is a perfectly fine surface under it.
Should i get a new linear rail or is this fixable?
I got this printer a few days ago and it doesn't even have 2h print time.. the other linear rails are not affected.
Not easy to get a picture of the problem. I attached thr best one

I was very careful while assembly of the printer to not rub off the oil that it came with since i don't have a compatible oil, yet
fully disassembled my eva now and it at least doesn't feel like those shaving do affect anything. I can't feel them while moving my carriage slow or fast and it moves without issues along the whole rail
Use a magnet and check to see if they really are steel shavings and not just some dried oil or something
Not magnetic.. i will try to clean it tomorrow with ipa, after i bought some oil
i tried to get it off with a soft brass brush and ipa. It didn't really want to get off but i got quite a lot of it off the rail. I even disassembled the carriage, cleaned everything, put it back together and put some oil on it. It moves but you can feel like some very small bumps. i think i should get a spare rail because i don't think it will last that long with those pieces between the balls and the rail. I also noticed some small movement between carriage and rail, after i removed the eva assembly, before taking off the carriage
