Installed RatOs on a Pi2B and an SKR V1.4 (lpc1768): No Klipper
not sure whether anyone can help (or anything at this point) but:
Installed RatOs on a Pi2B and an SKR V1.4 and...
/dev/serial/by-id/usb-Klipper_lpc1768_11C0000AA39C48AF40D3395DC72000F5-if00
So the two find each other, however on the main page: Connection with Moonraker is there however it cant connect to klipper.
Firmware of the SKR also goes into Firmwar.cur so seems to flas correctly. Anyone any Idea what I could try?

Is skr 1.4 supported?
If not you are going to have to modify your printer.cfg to use the correct connection for the MCU
Thanks: Now added [mcu] and serial: /dev/serial/by-id/usb-Klipper_lpc1768_11C0000AA39C48AF40D3395DC72000F5-if00 to printer.cfg.
Forgot that
Not yet fixed
Tried halving the baudrate to "baud: 125000": Didnt fix it either
look at https://github.com/Klipper3d/klipper/blob/master/config/generic-bigtreetech-skr-v1.4.cfg for a basic config before trying to get ratos to work
This is the exact SKR V1.4 config reference that I copied over before altering the parameters. I just forgot to change the MCU path, but that did not matter after all either. I also tried the Bautrate from the original Marlin (250000) and later halving it, which did not fix it either. The two find each other via USB, the flashing of the klipper onto the SKR 1.4 works, however Moonraker does not find the Klipper service..
You're supposed to flash it with RatOS firmware
You can do that using the configurator
But the SKR 1.4 is only partially supported (don't use it), and the Pi2 is not supported at all.
I used the configurator to generate the firmware as described by a Voron klipper blog and extracted it with winSCP. Also it flashes correctly. That said: Its not worth it, the BQ Witbox is back on marlin and running properly. I just wanted the ease of RatOS to have a slight improvement in my life.
This is how I got the firmware:
Those are two very different things
I'm talking about the RatOS configurator, if you want to use RatOS, follow the documentation
Which starts here: https://os.ratrig.com/docs/installation
Installing RatOS | RatOS
Raspberry Pi Installation
That said i actually don't think the SKR 1.4 is enabled in the configurator since it's not fully implemented and not officially supported.
You can do
~/printer_data/config/RatOS/boards/btt-skr-14/make-and-flash-mcu.sh
. It will fail but it will generate the firmware and put it in ~/printer_data/config/firmware_binaries
so you can download it through mainsail and flash it via SD card.
Then you can use it. But there's no wiring diagram, so you'll have to look in the pin configuration how everything should be wired.
That said, the pi 2 won't be able to do shaper calibration and other things. It's too old and too slow.
Also note, there's only partial configuration for SKR 1.4 Turbo. There's no configuration for the v1.4.
If you want to use RatOS, i very much recommend you use supported hardware.
(and read the documentation 🙂 )Or I guess work even harder to get the hardware supported 😅
Sure, for the SKR 1.4! The Raspberry Pi 2 can't be supported. Too old, too slow 😦
How to get the SKR 1.4 supported? Annoy the RatOS team?
lol "RatOS team" - you mean Mikel?
Ahhh excellent. I know what to do.
Patroulling the Mohave almost makes you wish for RatOS to support the SKR V1.4.
But it does support the BIGTREETECH CB1 V2.2 does it?
There's experimental support currently, yes
Mohave?
*Mojave
Darnit
I'm still lost 😄
That is unfortunate. It is a meme for annoying people until they do sth. specific from an ancient video game called Fallout New Vegas.
Oooooh
Yeah i never played any games from the Fallout franchise, that's probably not helping 😄
same here
I have been doing most of the work to get CB1 supported. But I don't have a spare printer to really test it on
but it should work
Sooo..... is there currently work done on the skr 1.4?
did you rename it to
btt-skr-14-turbo
cause that's all I see?Didn't rename it, just fucked up when typing 😄
No
