I can’t get two btt tmc5160’s to work on my manta m8p
I used the templates provided by RatOS but I can not for the life of me figure out what it is that I have wrong in the config file. I’ve added pin aliases and different settings but nothing I do will get past my board not being able to communicate over the SPI bus. Any help would be greatly appreciated

What error are you getting?

also your pin mapping is incorrect, everything on the board that talks SPI share the mosi/miso/sck pins and only differ in the CS pin
I just looked at the config files and your board's pinout - you don't have to lookup the pin, RatOS already has all the pins correctly mapped to aliases.

I’m getting a global scaler error
Ok I haven’t commented out the 2209 performance line. Let me try that now

I just updated my second screenshot, realized I left off the stuff for the Z-axis TMC2209 drivers - you have to add them too due to commenting out the 2209 include
Ok, I see. I was just going about it the wrong way. It’s a lot simpler than I thought

this is sort of explained here: https://os.ratrig.com/docs/configuration/advanced-stepper-configuration
Advanced Stepper Configuration | RatOS
RatOS V1.1 introduced modularized stepper and driver configuration, this can be used for more fine grained control of your steppers. In your printer.cfg you might have noticed a section like this:

however it's not as clear as it could be, Mikkel only has so much time to write up documentation so I understand why.
I know how it is. Ratrig is still in its infancy. I knew that when I bought it and I like troubleshooting
Sometimes I just need a little advice

don't we all 😉
I suppose we do….or we would’ve bought an X1P

oh I mean in life and about everything 😉
I agree. I was just taking a cheap shot at turnkey printers
