RatOS with WiFi dongle
Has anyone ever gotten a wifi dongle working with ratos running on a pi? I got a basic 802.11n dongle plugged in a pi2b with ratos2.0 32bit but it does not want to connect.
When using a fresh ratos install it does not create a wifi network.
any clues?

You would have to modify the hotspot script as I believe it automatically uses wlan0 and most likely your wifi dongle is something else in the network interfaces
you would need to change https://github.com/Rat-OS/RatOS/blob/v2.x/src/modules/hotspot/filesystem/root/usr/bin/autohotspotN#L16 to whatever your interface name is. You might also need other changes, I'm not sure
And if my RatOS is already configured?
Would just need to change the running wifi adapter
Maybe i should just connect a display n stuff and change wifi config that way
That shouuuuuuuuuld work
That script is used to create either the hotspot or connect to the wifi
Ah oki
Yeah because my pi 4 died and i only have a 2b left^^
I have been working on alternative boards for ratos so that you don't have to run it on a raspberry pi
Yeah, I've seen the progress 🙂
Thanks for that!
Just that the alternatives also aren't that much cheaper these days😅
I just bought a orange pi 3 lts for $40 with shipping. That's a lot cheaper than a pi
Those are 100-130€ here
Ofc with importing it through Ali it's prolly gonna go to like 50
Still not great tho
(anyways, this problem is "fixed", i got another pi working first one seems to be just dead, amaxon accepted a return
