Belts rubbing against idler
The belts on my machine are riding on the bottom of the xy joiner idlers and the idlers near the front of the machine. When i push the x axis manaully, the motion isn't smooth, and instead is a bit jerky. Could this be an issue caused by frame misalignment? I'm also having weird artifacting so could that be a side effect?

Maybe your idler or motor mounts are in an extreme position with respect to the frame. Maybe you can adjust the pulley height of the steppers
i have a feeling the frame is off, ive played with the motor pulleys a ton, so its probably not that
is it generally bad to have the belts rubbing against the idler?
I'd say if the belt is touching the edge just so, it might be acceptable. But if it is firmly pressed to one edge it will wear the belt and there will be hysteresis
Did you check squareness?
i do hear squeaking noises coming from the left motor cage
it's only the top belt path
ill try to align the frame
