Ringing on only one side of the print?
Whenever I print a flat surface on the y axis, one side has terrible ringing and resonances, while the other side is perfect. It seems to only happen on movements when the printhead is moving back, not forwards, so I think its an issue with direction. Could this be a motor/driver related issue? The issue doesn't show up on any of the other sides, so i doubt it
The picture shows two different sides of the same print, both on the y axis.
i recently changed my cable chain to a USB, but the issue didn't go away, so I'm guessing its not that.
i've tried multiple slicers so its probably not a slicer issue. I've also slowed down speeds a ton, and nothing changed.
Could it be because of the x axis rail? the mgn9 i got has a super light preload, so it moves super easily, and might be susceptible to interference.

I think its likely related to the preload of the linear rail
i got a super light preload hiwin mgn9
ive ordered a heavier preload no name rail, ill swap and see if it works
thats the only reason i can think of
i have the same problem on the X axis, looks like the belt is imprinted on the side of the printed part
I changed out the x rail, and I still see no improvement at all
changed the stepper drivers, and printing again
still no difference...
bearings?
maybe, but i don't understand how that would only be a problem in one direction
i checked all the bearings on the xy joiners
might check the bearings in the motor mounts
i do have a ton of extras
how it looks your belt tension graph?
i changed all the pulleys in the motor mounts
turns out the rr compressable pulleys broke
idk what happened, so i just swapped them out
issue fixed
thanks so much!!!!
Could you send a picture of which one it was? to understand pls
ok ill get some
just the middle chrome part became misaligned
because I think I have something similar, how did you find the bad bearing?
one of them was just kinda stuck
i still have the issue on the x axis
need to check the front bearings too
