Phaetus rapido sudden temp plunge

Any ideas what might cause a sudden temp drop to be registered as seen in the following snapshot? This is a standard phaetus rapido uhf... I don't believe the reading is accurate... Is the thermistor going bad perhaps?

have you check the wiring for breaks? I recall a user many months agao had an issue with his thermistor wiring being broken but it only manifested itself in certain spots on his bed.

Yes, I've tried forcing the issue but, as of yet, have not been able... I thought a wiring break would drop the temp to zero rather than partial?

yes, loose wires. had this too can also be a connectivity issue in or near the sensor itself

I think you helped me narrow this down in the back in April or May. Mine was doing that, but only when it parked in the back for it's initial start print heat up. It would behave fine in the middle of the bed so when I homed and tested it worked fine. That one gave me fits. 😆. I ended up taking the loom apart and replacing the wiring and never had another issue. The original wiring had no visible signs of damage. I refer to those kinds of problems as "fetal positions" because that's often how you end up before figuring it out.

The issue in my case was with the thermistor itself... I've since ordered a couple rapido cores (ceramic was forming a crack anyways) and a couple extra thermistors to have on hand... There is another thread I started on rapido repair that has some photos of my old core
