Controllers not loading?
Used to have this issue before and it was resolved by changing steam vr to the beta version, or by making sure the controllers were on first before loading the app, but now none of these seem to work for me 😦

Did not have the issue yesterday...
I see this happen a lot in unity. Switching to scene view seems to trigger loading of those assets, otherwise they stay associated with oculus and don't get loaded into the steam view. Not an answer, but may be relevant in finding one
Hmm, loaded up OB today and no issue! still had to load the controllers first for them to work. Not sure why it was having problems yesterday! hope that was a fluke
Ya, that's weird. It's inconsistent behavior, unless it got fixed in a recent build. Some sort of trick to it, can't recall exactly. Maybe whether steam is loaded, or if you've put the headset on and moved the controllers to make sure they get registered at some point, presumably before launching the game. Something to do with the openxr layer, but definitely over my head
@spectralmana sorry you're experiencing this, as I mentioned before I think this is coming from the OpenXR plugins, either on Unity or Steam's side 😦 I haven't noticed it since SteamVR v1.24 though
@zandyxr paging you in here because I think you mentioned it before - I notice it's very easy to lose controllers with the Oculus Rift version for some reason. I'm not sure what they're doing differently in their SDK, but I get it way more consistently than running the steamVR version.
Rift also exits by... crashing 😅
@spectralmana did you lift or take off your headset at all.....even perching it on your head? or is it when you load? Its only happened to me if I lift the headset but find if you reset view it will sometimes fix it.
I'm always running Rift version and this never happens to me (I mostly run from Unity however)
Specifically with the Oculus plugin version of openxr , normal rift openxr works just fine! Frustrating haha
My right controller is never visible, saw a notification in the panel about one of the controllers incorrectly being a vive wand
(Controller functions fine, but no visible buttons etc, is just not there or sometimes a purple silhoutte)
It's usually when I load . I usually load open brush before turning on my controllers or putting on the headset and the problem goes away if I restart the openbrush app afterwards
Yeah I think it’s because the headset is off when you start it. Mine disappear when I lift it slightly
hmm, i am having this problem again now! This time the controllers are not even loading at all
do I need to update maybe? I am using the experimental version...

Grab the latest from steam and make sure you're back on the official release!
There's no longer a separate experimental build, it's a toggle you can change from within settings 🙂
Weird, I did try that and i should be on the regular one now but it still is giving me the issue? Do I need to not be on SteamVR beta as well?
Changed to the regular version of SteamVR, still no dice :/

Great! I'm unsure what's causing your issue as it seems to be very intermittent/random, and doesn't change in accordance with steamVR/openbrush updates 🤔
Controllers not loading when using the oculus version now. [Rift S]
Controllers Visible against the grid thing and during load, disappear when game actually loads
Steam didn't launch. OpenXR Runtime button says [Set Oculus as Active].
Do I need to switch the button or load steam first?
I am having the same issue, ive turned controllers off and on, made sure I had my headset on it. And when i click on the controllers to go "home" on my PC the controllers do show up, but when i exit it out they disappear again. I am doing it off of steam and i have ACER WMR
