I've been building a Minecraft server and trying out velocity to make it a smoother experience.
I just created a MiniGames Hub and what I'm wondering is what is more effective and best for my sake, its on my local pc.
Setting up a couple NPC's in the hub with ex. bridge, block chase, tnt, spleef etc. 6 gamemodes as of now.

Ram allocation settings not working.
Hello, I have been trying to work on optimizing my MC server, as our player base increses I noticed people complaining and the server is using all its memory. I tried fixing this by adding more ram - java -Xmx17G -Xms5G @libraries/net/minecraftforge/forge/1.20.1-47.2.0/win_args.txt %* - but when I did this the amout of ram the server uses dose not change at all! its as if what im adding to the .bat has 0 affect. any guidence or help would be grate!
Dispensers shooting arrows crashes my 1.21 Spigot server
I recently updated my server to 1.21 and my friend crashed the server by being in a trial chamber. After doing a bit of experimentation, I am 100% sure that activating a dispenser with arrows in it crashes the server, even if the dispenser is placed by hand. Here is a crash report of one time it happened: https://mclo.gs/b7mMj3e. This doesn't happen on singleplayer worlds or on the vanilla server software.
Is this happening to anyone else? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to disable dispensers on the server or something while this bug gets fixed?...
Server not using given resources
my server is not using the resources i allow it to use but using only half which is not enough to keep up with the mods. i set it to 6gb which is reccomended but its only using about 3 when in use and when i look in the logs it shows it is allowed to use 6gb. players on the server are constantly rubberbanding blocks not placing/breaking and guis take a long time to open

Fly on upon join
Little kids aren't good at typing /fly. is there an easy way to turn it on automatically when they join. Survival server. Allow flight is true and essentialz send-fly-enable-on-join: true
Is it worth it to try and start a server?
I had an RPG style serve I made a few years back that was super unpolished and lacked content and I wanna try and start working on it again but before I sink a lot of time and money towards it I want to know if it’s even worth it to try and make a monetized server with live service, considering a lot of servers have had decreased player counts.

Vulcan vs Spartan anticheat
I have been using both anticheats and from what i have see vulcan has been giving me more false flags than spartan. I wanted to hear some opinions from other people as well to see that they were thinking as well.
1.20.1 forge/NeoForge Self-Hosted Server Unresponsive
I play on the same PC that I'm hosting server and after awhile of playing the server stops responding. Console shows no errors, no crashes just window stops responding and any players get kicked with "Server connection timed out". I connect to server directly so its not internet issue. Server keeps maxing out RAM and freezing.
Hello. I have a Fabric 1.19.2 server with around 50 mods on 6 GB of RAM. The server mostly has two or three people online at a time, and the view distance is set to 10.
The issue is that the RAM usage is constantly rising, leading to the server to freeze when hitting -Xmx. There could be a single player online, playing for an hour or so, and the server would still hit -Xmx.
Why is it freezing when it maxes out? I had a Forge server before with like 100 mods running on 6 GB of RAM as well, and I had the same issue, but when I downloaded the server and ran it on my phone on a mere 2 GB of RAM it never froze. It did hit 2 GB pretty quickly, but it never froze. So, what's the deal? Is my phone that OP? I use WitherHosting, by the way. Are they lying about their RAM?...
