Is it worth it to try and start a server?
I had an RPG style serve I made a few years back that was super unpolished and lacked content and I wanna try and start working on it again but before I sink a lot of time and money towards it I want to know if it’s even worth it to try and make a monetized server with live service, considering a lot of servers have had decreased player counts.

no
generally its just not
shouldnt go in expecting a server to make money, and the server market is very saturated, marketing is pretty much the most important thing nowadays
I would go into it as a hobby. If you don’t like doing it then it’s not worth it.
But if you are trying to make a profit then you have to accept the fact that you might never be profitable or it might take a very long time
You have to think about it like a business instead of like a Minecraft server which is very difficult if you do this as a hobby. You have to have the perfect middle ground between hobby and business
you'll most likely not make a profit back. If you really like minecraft or programming, feel free to go for it
but there's probably better ways to invest
Damn that sucks, probably still gonna do it for fun tho
The only way ur gonna make money is if you make a really fun and well developed server that is also extremely p2w
