Velocity & Multiverse
I've been building a Minecraft server and trying out velocity to make it a smoother experience.
I just created a MiniGames Hub and what I'm wondering is what is more effective and best for my sake, its on my local pc.
Setting up a couple NPC's in the hub with ex. bridge, block chase, tnt, spleef etc. 6 gamemodes as of now.
Should create a new server for each and every game mode? Or use multiverse and have different worlds on the same server. How would that work with different maps on different gamemodes?

For starters if u decide to go down the multi world setup, I’d just avoid multiverse and would recommend using myworlds
multiverse has its on own custom inventory setup and that makes it a complete pain to move off of, while myworlds just follows vanillas method and keeps it as player.dat file on each world file
Myworlds has the same features and just as stable (if not more) the dev also been in the community for over 10years and just as reputable
As for velocity vs a multi world setup, it’s recommend trying to stick with velocity, and only use multiple worlds where it’s needed.
^^
can vouch for MyWorlds
as will most people here
same. Used MyWorlds extensively and love how simple and stable it is. Multiverse is extremely overrated. Shout out to Leche for the recommendation.
Thanks will take a look at it, about minigames, should i create new servers per minigame or use Myworlds instead?
I'm not really sure how people set it up want a walk through how people have setup their servers haha
Thanks in advance
IMO depends on the minigames, the plugins ur using for them, the player base size, and the kind of hardware u use
In a perfect world u’d have a diff server for each game (and even sep servers for each queue for each game), but hardware wise u might not be willing to drop enough money to sustain 15 different servers, or willing to invest in setting up a system to dynamically spin up and shutdown games as they’re played, (which some of the nicer plugins… usually paid… already do for u)
Similar games might work on the same world, some games might need their own world, (like if a game utilizes a worldborder)
Some games logic requires overhauls everything and needs their own servers
It’s not really a white or black answer.
Ideally u just gotta spend some time and figure out what is best for u niche situation factoring in those games and then the money/time/hardware
