High-rise underwear?
Hello there, hopefully you guys might be able to answer this somewhat embarrassing question as it's been driving me crazy ever since I started to learn more about wearing more flattering clothes for your body type. Essentially, my main question is, what rise of underwear should I wear with high rise trousers? I've tried to look everywhere online for an answer to this, but I can't seem to find any video or article that isn't just debating on the styles of underwear. I know that high or mid-rise pants have come back in fashion, and in classic tailoring and suiting I see many people talking about the benefits of wearing high waisted pants, but nobody seems to talk about what you're supposed to wear just underneath those same pants. While brands may be selling more high waisted pants, the underwear I see them selling are almost always low-rise. So this begs the question: is everyone just wearing low rise underwear that sits at their hips, with pants that sit at their natural waist? Because personally, this idea seems wildly uncomfortable to me, that there are two points of "constriction" on your torso, especially since high rise pants are supposed to be more comfortable alongside being more flattering, in comparison to the low rise pants from 10-ish years ago. My stop-gap solution has been that whenever I do wear high-rise pants or jeans, I've just started wearing older boxer briefs (that are a bit looser on me, as I've lost a little bit of weight and they've stretched in the wash somehow) where I can pull the waistband up to being underneath my belly button, without it being too constricting. However, this doesn't really seem like the best solution to my problem, so I am trying to find some brands that sell properly high waisted boxer briefs that aren't meant for trying to compress and streamline someone's stomach like a girdle, but I have been unsuccessful so far. So any comments or advice in this area would be greatly appreciated!
