Tailoring and general suit knowledge
Hey y'all, I am going to a wedding for the first time in June and I am in need of a suit. I do not own a suit, and the only ones I owned in the past were very cheap and low effort. I would like to be intentional in my purchase this time and spend a bit more money on something that I'll feel good in, especially since I do not wear suits often and it would last me quite a while.
Things I know: I do not have any particularly unique proportions, so tailoring should not be a big challenge, I live in and the wedding is in Florida so I will be looking for what I understand is called a "summer suit", and my ginger hair/beard and pale skin somewhat limit my color options.
Things I do not know: where should I buy a suit? Should that place also be where I get it tailored? What makes a suit expensive beyond the type of fabric, and what should I be looking for? What color options/pairings should I be looking into? Does my hairstyle/beard have an impact on anything?
Numbers: I have about 5 months until the event, I am willing to spend up to $1000 on the suit if it is worth that money, I am 6' 165-170 pounds with a slim build (I do not know my chest measurement but I believe my waist is a 32)
