Brown (suede?) derbies
I’d like to get some well-made, plain brown shoes that I can wear with chinos (olive, khaki, navy, gray, etc.) and jeans. I’d like them to look nice but also not mind when they rough-up and develop a patina. I live in New England and would love a three season shoe that would work well with chinos and a flannel, jeans and ocbd, and chinos and blazer. I’ve been looking at these from Rancourt and I really like them but am hesitating because of the red sole. I have had a pretty bad eye for shoes in the past and don’t know if that is in play here or not. Are these versatile or do the red soles send a specific vibe (preppy? summer only? Etc) https://www.rancourtandcompany.com/cdn/shop/files/RocklandBlucher-SnuffNubuck03_900x.jpg?v=1697146587 I’ve also been eyeing these at Parkhurst but am thinking they are a shade lighter than ideal for wearing with khakis chinos. https://www.parkhurstbrand.com/collections/shoes-1/products/the-bidwell-2-0-dune-rough-out-602m Looking for advice on those two pairs and also open to other recommendations. Budget around $300.
