you can also just look at pictures of people fits that you like with the clothes that you tend to wear, and see which shade of brown shoe you like best with what they are wearing

in certain contexts, I think my eyes/brain tend to read darker browns as more elegant and medium browns as more casual/rugged. so if i had to pick myself, if i wore more workwear/americana stuff, the lighter one. if i wanted to wear it with some darker/traditional tailoring, the darker one. but you can still get away with either in both contexts

Any of the traditional British makers will have something like that. Vintage Burberry, aquascutum, or grenfell. It’s an overcoat so you can size up for a more voluminous look that Lemaire does
