AMD CPU heats up when locking PC or changing TTY
to further narrow it down the runescape example is outside of steam and is just using normal wine, so I think that probably helps rule out steam specific tech. On the bright side though for my example forcing zink both fixes the issue and it runs noticeably better. I'm on nvidia (5700x3d + 3080), has anyone ran into this on AMD/Intel?

Yea, could be unrelated, but similar journalctl messages and CPU also going crazy seems like a interesting coincidence. Oddly I never saw the issue with 1209

I think this can also be reproduced by playing runescape 3 through https://github.com/USA-RedDragon/jagex-launcher-linux-flatpak/. Since the latest bazzite update (Stable (F41.20241216)) whenever I launched the game it would make the CPU go crazy and peg all cores at 100% causing temperatures as high as 90C. The
MESA_LOADER_DRIVER_OVERRIDE=zink option seems to work to stop this behavior and keeps the CPU at 9% usage. Wouldn't read too much into this since the game seems to barely work on linux to begin with, but thought I'd mention the data point since it seems to map pretty closely to this issue. No packages layered or fan software configured160 replies
