About bootable containers and podman
So, I have a unique case where I have a VPN client that I can't install via normal methods. It can't work purely in a container without some hacky module loading and local network proxies, and it can't be installed via rpm-ostree. It doesn't have an AppImage or a flatpak, and the installer comes as a .run file. I just learned about bootable containers, which could work, but my question is this: If I created a bootable container(file) based on Bazzite, then rebased to it, would I still get automatic updates from the original Bazzite image, or would I have to manually stage everything in a container with my modifications each time I wanted to check for/get updates?

Return to Gaming Mode missing - Gnome
I seem to be missing a few options from the Gnome Bazzite menu, most notably "Return to Gaming Mode." Is there some way I can rebuild this option or reset it to a fresh default?

No sound in Desktop Mode/No sound when switching to Game Mode
On Steam Deck @ bazzite-deck-gnome v. 2.2.0 On a fresh boot into Game Mode, audio works fine. When switching to Desktop Mode, there is no sound. Additionally, there's no sound when switching back to Game Mode. Audio is restored on reboot. On desktop mode, I checked the audio output: max volume, not muted. Named "Filter Chain Sink." Ran the built-in audio test, and clicking each L/R channel shows the volume meter fluttering, but no sound is actually produced. There must be some disconnect between Gnome and the speakers, but I have no idea where to even start.

Adding software with a script
I'm trying to add Private Internet Access, which doesn't exist in rpm-ostree or as a Flatpak, and the installer is a .run script/binary. I'm having trouble adding the app, because it modifies the OS files—or it would, if the OS was mutable. Since it's a GUI app, is a Toolbox the right way to add it? Should I do it with a Distrobox? Can I use rpm-ostree install? Still trying to get used to the layered packages thing (first time with an immutable OS), but surely there must be a way to install something like this.
