Limiting Y level to 0?

would this not give a huge unfair advantage to 1.20 players since only they can access best mining y levels and they can have their entire bases in areas inaccessible to 1.8.8 players? also what happens if a 1.8 player teleports to a 1.20 player who is like below y 0? do they just like fall out of the world or get softlocked or something?

if you have the spare hardware resources then just use latest paper/puffer if you have a ton of time to develop stuff then minestom is a good option if you don’t have the server resources to use latest paper/puffer for it then you could also I guess use a 1.8.8/1.12.2 server since it’s a lot more performant if you know how to prevent exploits on those versions (using plugins like lpx), though that’s probably very discouraged here lol since it’s always gonna be less safe than using a newer version

a while ago i was trying to the exact same thing for a survival gamemode I was working on (since ofc I have the same constraint of 90% 1.8.8 players) and the most interesting thing I found was the exact default config for worldgen on 1.17.1 before they changed the generation heights. one sort of solution would be to make the anti afk ignore clicks because no one really clicks on stuff without very slightly moving their mouse for a long period of time, but I doubt CMI lets you make this adjustment
