Wardrobe size. Is that too little or too much?
Yeah, I’ve been reading Mallarme, Wilde, and Stendhal and going back to Napoleon’s aesthetic concerns. You know all the pictures of the ermine stoles and vibrant purple, red, and blue outfits? Essentially, Napoleon was the first person to take history’s aristocratic dress and tie it in with other considerations like utility, personal style, and fashion as we know it today. While having unlimited power and resources, he refined what he had specifically to his taste. I’ve wondered what a modern day version of this might look like, and I think @DarkSerenityX is a great example. It’s something I’m personally interested in seeing. It’s the tying together of dress to show power (standard aristocratic dress like mink stoles and Tyrian purple dye resurfaced today maybe through Phillip Plein branding or a python blazer) with personal discretion (seeing the theme of his recent intro to fall outfit).

Really cool to see your wardrobe. I got in some trouble in here for posting your outfits to inspo by a mod thinking I meant to be mean spirited, but you have some seriously cool stuff. Despite it being different from what the ‘MFA’ standard look is, it’s cool to see the thought process behind how you style such out there items. I’ve recently been reading about the beginnings of modern fashion and the transition between ornament as a power signifier and tastefulness, and you’re like a modern day Napoleon. Really cool collection and I’m looking forward to more of your posts.
