No, this is also covered in the dual install guide at the top of the thread. In order to have the dual install, you must make sure you have all mods you want installed. If you end up wanting to add more mods, you can always move the contents of the downgraded copy (except the manifest files of course) to the install directory of 1.0 and install/remove mods again. But I believe that's the only way if dual installed. Otherwise you'd just have to keep the downgraded copy in the normal install directory and launch it from the exe/shortcut if you made one.

I believe the easiest way to avoid the automatic updates would be to move the Update 8 install to a different drive (or location on your drive). That way, you can launch your modded copy independently of Steam. For whatever reason, Steam removed the ability to completely stop automatic updates

Right click on the game in your steam library>Properties>Installed Files>Verify integrity

The correct manifest files are the ones included with 1.0. Just install 1.0 on your system, then replace everything except the manifest files in the game directory from the depot.

So then in order to have the dual install, I just add my mods, then copy the entire root folder of Satisfactory elsewhere, then verify the steam install yeah?
