TL;DR: Is a Ryzen 5 2600x much better than a i5 2500k for Minecraft servers?
Im currently running an i5 2500k (non-oc'd) with 16gb of ram as my server pc, but was wondering what would be best for an upgrade to it. I only run small private servers for me and my friends, but man does the cpu struggle to even load new vanilla chunks, let alone modded ones.
I know the 2500k overclocks like crazy, but my motherboard dosnt support it :/ Ive got a friend who has an old pc with a Ryzen 5 2600x and 16gb of ram + motherboard, and said he'd give it to me for like $135. Is that worth it for the performance increase?
