Well I have it working both left and right halves. Now I just have to go back to usb logging disabled fw.
That was an interesting journey. This is my first split I have assembled but I have been working on a lot of ESP32 projects as of late.
Thanks for the tips on the USB logging.

Right side paired but doesn't seem to work
I enabled USB logging and was able to confirm the right keyboard is registering every keypress when the right side is plugged in. However, when monitoring the left side over usb with the right side showing as paired it does not register keypresses. I also see an interesting error when the right keyboard is turned on. Is it possibe it is not pairing correctly. (despite showing like it is on the nice view as pictured in my initial pictures)

Though I am pretty sure I swapped reset and flashed and the left side worked with the right controller. I will reconfirm that as well.

Okay, I can try that. I was also going to verify connectivity for each of the controller's pins. I did order another controller just in case and as an additional troubleshooting effort.

The right side is paired with the left. When the left is paired with a laptop or when plugged in to a computer the right side doesn't recognize keystrokes.

Also Worth nothing when using the reset firmware the right side worked fine.
