Normally the DB shouldnt be exposed to the outside by default
Probably the port isnt open, but you could temporarily change that

Another idea that came to my mind is to just add an option to instantly upload an image by opening the system file browser, where a user can select a file from the file system directly, not the timeline
Wouldnt need any changes to the timeline logic, as it would be seperate
Im far too underquailfied to impl this as I failed to add this kind of option once in an android app in university, so just take this as a form of input for a possible implementation
