server hosting options + advice
hey all, forgive my ignorance, im looking to set up a server for a small community and just want to know the best route. completely new to server hosting but i have the time to learn. here are some logistics:
The plan is vanilla (fabric for optimization mods? its what my more techy friend did for our server a while back). Max capacity around 20-30 people? i plan to implement a strict whitelist and rules (probably a world border, limits on item farms and animals)
aforementioned friend used the oracle cloud free tier trick, but we only ever had to accommodate like 8 people on at once and no crazy farms. it was fabric with only optimization stuff and a few data packs for world gen. ideally I’d like to do the same but not sure if I can get away with this on a larger server
if not oracle, what hosting services would you recommend?
thank you very much. again i am very new to this, so a lot of technical jargon’s probably going to go over my head. just want to figure this out for the community im apart of (and since I have some money in case paying is necessary. many of them dont).
