Ok, so it turns out I was an idiot (as usually). In the Add-on options there IS a way to bind a TCP port for the standard Adguard web interface, completely circumventing Home Assistant. The credentials are the same as for the HA interface. I had to disable SSL for this, but since that device isn't exposed, that shouldn't be an issue
