sorry for late reply, but i actually got it to work, but now im having an issue with SMM telling me mods are missing when i launch, even though i clearly have them downloaded

I'm not doing the dual install, and no trouble with the downgrade other than steam still trying to update, i leave the text files in but it still tries to update

so everything worked for me but I didnt see anything on keeping it from updating again, launching with smm and steam tries to update , and steam doesnt allow turning off updates completely
