Domain

The auth code is used when transferring the domain to another domain registrar (the company where you control the domain). That's different from setting the domain to point to the hosting company's IP address, which is what you have to do to make it work. It's recommended that you don't use the same company for the domain registration and for the hosting, because some bad hosting companies take the domain hostage if you try to quit their hosting and the domain is registered at the same company.
