Here is a spreadsheet with community benchmarks of LOD generation: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lFO4bC4OhHHCC6eqGjNbNlcj6OotxNAJ4mKBT396Wx8/edit?gid=1386727054#gid=1386727054
In what way slow? Are you expecting more FPS, faster LOD generation, ...?
these dont have my sepc and i was expecting more fps
Whats your vanilla RD and your DH quality preset?
everything default
made a new instance just to test
What are your FPS without DH
Also try disabling
Distant Generation
or lowering CPU Load
inside your DH settingsno dh and shader is like 700+ with just shader its 140 and with just dh its 120
yea these tests are without distant generator
im going to re run these tests after loading chunks and disabling distant generator
ok so all these are after opening f3 for a sec before it lowers fps
distant horizon in settings disabled and no shader - 500+
distant horizon only - 180ish
just shaders- 95ish
with shader and dh its 60
and the shader is bliss but the file i got is from here
not the latest bliss / chacopatric version or whatever its called
Yea, thats quite a large FPS drop
Could you send the log? Could contain some helpful information
/logstored
You should send your
latest.log
file to provide additional useful information.
Logs are usually located in the .minecraft/logs
directory.
On Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\logs
On Linux: ~/.minecraft/logs
On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/logs
Please upload the file to mclo.gs instead of sending the raw file. This makes reading the contents of the file a lot easier and improves the chances of you getting the help needed.
After uploading the file, click on Save
and send the link.i use modrinth mod loader would the log location be different
yes, you can click 3 dots and open folder in the instance view

which one is it
latest.log
is it showing for u
Yea, it is
Hmm, don't see anything that could cause such a huge FPS drop in there
Could you also send the DH config file?
/config
To edit the config, press the button next to the FOV slider to edit the config.
The config file found in .minecraft/config/DistantHorizons.toml
whats ur screen res that could also play a part
maybe the other people were using 1080 and ur on 1440 or smth
ye im on 1440
4060 is mostly made for 1080p
i dont think 1440 should be that much more intensive for a 4060 tbh
like a noticable from from 1080 sure but not halfing ur performance
1080 * 1920 = 2 073 600 pixels
1440 * 2560 = 3 686 400 pixels
2 073 600 / 3 686 400 = 0,563
It isn’t half, but it is pretty close to it
well its my laptops native res
