dh is not a shader pack
and that zip you downloaded contains 3 DH .jar's, one for fabric, one for neoforge, and one for both, you have to pick one
when dh is actually installed its config menu is a button next to the FOV slider

Click options, there will be a button with the DH icon as described here
Also you need to put DH into the mods folder like iris
and get the .jar out of that .zip too
maybe the .zip is what confused them
ok i somehow can not get this to work... I have fabric installed properly as i can see the launcher availible through minecraft client. I moved the fabric file from the zip into the mod folder but nothing is coming up
so what does your mods folder look like?
and are you using the normal minecraft launcher?

/logs
You should send your
latest.log
file to provide additional useful information.
Logs are usually located in the .minecraft/logs
directory.
On Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\logs
On Linux: ~/.minecraft/logs
On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/logs
Please upload the file to mclo.gs instead of sending the raw file. This makes reading the contents of the file a lot easier and improves the chances of you getting the help needed.
After uploading the file, click on Save
and send the link./config
To edit the config, press the button next to the FOV slider to edit the config.
The config file found in .minecraft/config/DistantHorizons.toml
