Surface scatter after sculpting mesh
Hi guys! Hope you're all well.
I found some interesting and annoying issue.
I created a dash landscape, bake the terrain, apply a nanite. Apply the surface scatter and object masking for spline object ot scatter trees and foliage.
And then I've wanted to add some details by using a vertex sculpt modeling tool. And when I've added some sculpt - the surface scatter doesnt see this and think that there is no height added. I try to add some sculpt details. apply some modifier, and try to rebuild the collision - but none worked. Here is the scrrenshoots.
What do you think? Why does this happens, and how we can fix it?

UPD:
After restarting engine - all goes as it should.
But mb you can check why it doesnt update immidiatly after sculpt?

I think the main issue is that our tools can't update while you are in sculpt mode, if you go back into normal UE mode/Editor it should update. Did you try this?
Yeah, that all was made after exiting edit mode offcourse
Restart is only thing that helps
alrighty, and did you use the normal sculpt tool in UE? I want to try it mysefl
I try:
- Vertex Scuplt
- Dynamic Sculpt
- Lattice
and none of it worked
Confirmed the issue, but also noticed that moving the terrain slightly forced an update😬

Maybe it is cause I am in a newer build. Are you fine with waiting until next Dash release and hopefully then at least the workaround of moving the terrain works?
