Previous data not used and shader bugs
Hi, so I've just seen the version for 1.21.4 is on Modrinth and I've tried it, but for some reason the data doesn't seem to load. I get pretty much normal render distance.
Also, I logged into the world with shaders on and when I turned them off the things in the distance appeared only as black.
(I've also been having issues with photon where the sky would be replaced by phantom images of objects around me, I didn't grab a screenshot but it was very weird and made the shaders unusable, so I moved to Solas instead)
thanks for the help!

For the black LOD I think it might be fullbright, though it used to work with it before, so it's a bit annoying, but for the missing data I'm stumped
(I mean, I didn't do all of the steps in the FAQ but given it worked with the nightbuild, I don't understand why suddenly it's gone)
The LOD DB location changed
In the world data in the LOD DBs folder should should now have 2 fodlers for each dimension you visited with both DH versions
Move the bigger one to the location of the smaller one for each dimension
Make backups of all the DBs you replace/delete to make sure you won't lose any LOD data
ok so I actually have 4 overworld folders in that server and the largest one is the most recently modified (as in today)
Well, experiment
One of them should contain your old LODs
And one of them is used by the new DH version
there's also a realm I logged back in and there's only one overworld folder and two for the end, which I didn't go to since I switched DH versions, but I've very much logged onto the realm with the new DH... is it still in
.minecraft/distant_horizons_server_data
?yes still

Server Plugin
All dimensions in one file: SERVER_FOLDER/plugins/DHSupport/data.sqlite
IDK how accurate those are right now
yeah so I just tried logging into another server and there's only one overworld folder
I'm thinking the new version might have overwritten old files?
Don't think so, you would be the first I think that this happend to
Though I don't know what the issue might be
The new DH should have automaticaly moved the new LODs to the new location
So if the new location has the biggest DB old LODs might be there
Then the issue is they don't render
Which is also possible
If that is the case:
/logs
You should send your
latest.log
file to provide additional useful information.
Logs are usually located in the .minecraft/logs
directory.
On Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\logs
On Linux: ~/.minecraft/logs
On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/logs
Please upload the file to mclo.gs instead of sending the raw file. This makes reading the contents of the file a lot easier and improves the chances of you getting the help needed.
After uploading the file, click on Save
and send the link./binary
Try a binary search and figure out which mod is causing it.
So disable half of the mods, see if issue is still there, if yes disable half again etc etc until you find the mod that's causing the issue.
Try using DH without any otehr mods
I mean, biggest is a bit questionable, it was like 300 MB after walking around for some time. And once again, data just wouldn't load in
Also, I just tried going back to the night build, and... well at least it doesn't crash when I turn on shaders and fullbright doesn't seem to show everything in black, but I get this with shaders....

Those look like vanilla chunks not being loaded so this desn't look like DH issue
I mean I stood there for a while. It was all working fine, I turned on shaders, this happened, I turned off shaders, blocks appeared normally
also things like glass panes were very much visible
just that most blocks were invisible
as for trying without other mods, last time I did that I lost all my hotkey configurations. I don't know if it was a bug from something, but it was so annoying I'm dreading deactivating mods again because of it
as for the logs: https://mclo.gs/tvrsiNC
and I know the FAQ says not to use feather, but I've been using it for like a year now and I'm used to some mods on there and it's annoying to switch especially considering I can never manage to get all configs to be exported properly (some mods I guess I never find the files that have the remapped keys to) and there's all the data like JourneyMap and DH and things... anyways
Don't see anything interesting in logs
I don't think I will be able to help more at least for now
thought that's not the first log since installing the new DH version, maybe I should upload that one instead
(I think this mentions not being able to move save data to a folder though I don't understand what exactly it's saying)
Yeah, it complains that is can't move the old LODs to th new location
You can try running MC as admin or move the LODs by hand (I'm lost if this is done or not already) then rename, delete or move somewhere else the rest of DB folders
Thing is I'm still not clear on which is the old one and which is the new one
Is it trying to move them in the folder just called overworld?
It wants to move:
C:\Users\********\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\Distant_Horizons_server_data\Stoneworks\overworld
To
C:\Users\********\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\Distant_Horizons_server_data\Stoneworks\jr33u9s7jjpak@minecraft@@hubnew
So overworld
should be the old location, and jr33u9s7jjpak@minecraft@@hubnew
the new oneyeah that still didn't work
and contrary to the night build this is still showing black LOD, which I know might be caused by other mods but I don't get why it doesn't happen on the nightbuild version
ok well weirdly enough it works on the realm. Even the LOD doesn't appear dark. Go figure.
thank you for the help, I guess? I mean, still can't find the solution for that other server, but it works for the realm?
