Styling feedback: Burberry shirt, jumper, jeans
How well does this fit work and what could I do to improve it?

This is clothes being worn. I don't think it's quite hitting fashion "fit" status. That said, it all looks pretty good in terms of silhouette.
I don't like the jumper, and for me wearing it over the Burberry check doesn't add much and basically takes away from the "I'm wearing Burberry check" effect that the shirt really serves. Also not sure about the bit of shirt poking out the bottom, it doesn't look that intentional.
Trousers look decent š
Trainers look ok, but Converse or similar trainer would be better IMO.
Mainly I think you could gain something from having a think about your hairstyling. A brush and a little product could do a lot I think.
The shoes are converse :linkLOL:

ah sorry, I didn't mean "the brand converse" I meant the iconic shoe "converse"

Ah, I see :linkBow:
As for the shirt tuck, I wanted it to be similar to a fit I'd done before with a jumper and a untucked shirt

But the jumper was also there because of the cold

You have a tendency to wear something with a lot of visual interest and personality, like a tie or that burberry shirt, then bury it under a sweater. I'd be interested to see you generally let those items shine through more prominently. if it's a necessary temperature thing, there are other outerlayers you could wear that might keep you warm, or an undershirt made out of a good heat retentive material.
Perhaps yeah, I've still got my HEATTECH stuff from Uniqlo
I have those exact undershirts and they allow me to pretty comfortably (for me anyway) wear just a button down in similar weather to what you posted.
well, the warmer end of what you posted anyway
yeah, it's a similar temp here today @Sam and I'm just wearing a tshirt under a normal shirt in the office/at home and a coat when outside.
but you might run colder than me
another factor, you don't actually need to post your entire outdoor fit if you don't want to. I've definitely crafted an outfit for post, and then buried it in an outer layer that I don't post before. sometimes I want to dress for indoors and post that, rather than what I'm wearing as I walk out the door.
sweater feels too slim for what i think youre aiming at. also is the shirt long or short sleeved?
the shirts short sleeved
along with the suggestions for shoes + sweater, I think youd be better served by long-sleeved shirts for looks in this direction.
layering a short sleeve usually looks a bit awkward IMO
Shirt tucked in would look much better IMO
A bit of fit pic recommendation
You should work on some better lighting in your fit pics
They are often backlit and not doing well to show off what you are wearing
And your pose could be a bit more casual
Also Iām with others on the advice. A less slim sweater would do wonders here
And Iām really with chopper on the initial comment. This just feels like clothes being worn
It might help going back to some inspo of outfits you think really shine and breaking down what is good about them and trying to replicate what is good in your own outfits
This just feels like clothes being wornI'm not sure what you mean here š¤
There is a spectrum between someone putting on clothes (in a basic way as everyone in public does) and putting together an outfit (which conveys some mix of style, intentional design choice, silhouette, visual interest, personal expression, interesting pieces, and for lack of a better word vibe)
This feels closer to the former than the latter
i didn't realize there was a difference before, i thought i was putting on outfits
now i'm slightly stressing about what outfit to wear tomorrow lol
how am i'm going to use these black trousers and burberry shirt to come up with a cohesive outfit?
how am i also just made aware of this spectrum now
don't stress so much about it
its something that comes with practice
like with any other skill
you sound like you are putting thought into it, so just keep doing that
the spectrum exists with any kind of artistic skill. like there is a difference between an author saying "this character is sad" and actually expressing sadness in an interesting way
yeah, i should've realised through game dev that artistic skills are hard to learn
i'll see if i can do this when i've got some free time
meanwhile i'm fine with just throwing clothes on for tomorrow :linkBow:
better lighting would help - ideally you want the set up as you -> camera -> light, like this
i agree with the comments - imo the sweater is a little slim for me and imo i'd stick the collar back under the crewneck. that said sometimes your objective is just to be clothed decently and this is a satisfactory answer to that
do i have those kinds of fits: yes? do i post them on the internet? not usually and that's okay
maybe make another attempt at this fit in a little while given the advice received
Ok

I've made some changes
Firstly I've ditched the sweater all together for the fit pic
Secondly I've swapped the shoes for some classic converse
i think this is pretty decent but what do you guys think?
I like this better.
This is definitely alot better
This is real fun, I like it a lot
