Does Anyone Else Need To Frequently Restart The Game For Performance?
When the game launches and finishes rendering the LODs my FPS is pretty descent, usually around 90. But after 30 minutes to an hour it gradually declines, usually settling at around 30-45 fps. Only way I have been able to solve this is a full game restart.
For reference I am playing on ATM 10 modpack on my own hosted server, but I am sure it is DH causing the decline in frames as I have a copy of my install without DH, played on that for an hour and my frames never dipped below 140.
Hardware wise I have 4070 super 32gb of RAM (16 allocated) and and i7 8700K

No I don't think anyone else is having this issue
any ideas as to why I'm having this issue then? Also are you using nightly build or 2.3.0? And are you on a server or singleplayer world?
What lod distance have you set your client-side to?
96
have tinkered varying it anywhere from 256, now down to 96. Doing so raises my starting fps but it always works its way down to 30-45 after an hour or so
Hmm are there any errors in your server console?
I gtg though sorry
I have the same issue with a very strong rig, also playing ATM 10, so I guess it's more likely an issue with the modpack/an incompatibility
yeah it would have to be an incompatibility, as I've tested with/wo DH and DH is definitely what gradually slows the frames down.
Try an older version of DH, I'm using 2.2.1-a
It doesn't have any framerate issues with ATM10, although the chunks get messed up a bit in the mining dimension & a couple other dimensions, so I just avoid going there
im using the multiplayer features from 2.3 as Im running a server for friends. Probably just going to stick it out with this version until it's updated, although I may try one of the nightly builds to see if that fixes it perhaps
Swift im in the exact same situation. Modpack as well. Was fine in ATM9 about a year ago. What i found was using DH in Singleplayer, my fps is fine. However in multiplayer (friend self hosted server) my fps starts fine, around 120fps when i 1st join but slowly degrades. Around 40+ mins later il be on >30fps. Only i have DH installed, not the server however.
Have you found any causes?
Could one of you do a binary search please
/binarysearch
Try a binary search and figure out which mod is causing it.
So disable half of the mods, see if issue is still there, if yes disable half again etc etc until you find the mod that's causing the issue.
I take it i cant disable mods whilst on a server that i dont run? As this issue only happens when im on one and not SP. If so, any other way i could help?
You can try hosting your own server with tha same mods
I’ll try to tonight when I’m on. I think first I might try the nightly build to see if that fixes it, but if it doesn’t I’ll try that.
issue with a binary search is you have to play for 40 minutes to an hour before fps degrades so it is just gonna take forever to do
I have not, going to try the nightly build tonight and see if that fixes it, otherwise may do the binary search, just not looking forward to it with 400+ mods, and a 40+ wait time between attempts
Solution
The nightly buid seems to have fixed it
Oh yea I didn't think of that :cou:
Nightly build found in #links-n-downloads fixed it
Great shout, thanks! Fixed it for me too. They should have these versions on their website!
we dont have a website...
Yes, I am having this issue!
I have 64+ chunks loaded into the DH LOD, I have my framerate capped at 160 to keep GPU usage lower, but it will go up to ~230+.
Over the course of an hour FPS will degrade down to 60 or below. FPS decreases faster if I travel around the world.

Reconnecting doesn't fix it, reloading a world doesn't fix it, only closing out the game completely and restarting it fixes it.
Did you have to replace both the client and the server-side mod, or just client when you changed over to nightly
i replaced both, didnt even try replacing just nightly
I will also confirm this remedies the issue
