LOD flicker on water chunks with DH 2.3.x + shaders

UPDATE: I can isoalte the OpenGL rendering error spam to occur only with DH 2.3 (no other mods installed, vanilla mc), logs: https://mclo.gs/FCHDhRd I have been using the nightly DH over the past few days and there is a persistent flicker on water chunks when they are being rendered as LODs and shaders are enabled. I tested with a clean instance earlier today (modlist attached) Recording of the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66bxWZieEU8 Logfile dump of the run in this specific video: https://mclo.gs/eN9hHU4 System specs: 7950x3d + 4090. It is persistent across all shaders I have tried, the video specifically shows it with two of them. The issue is not present in DH 2.2.x with or without shaders, it is also not present in DH 2.3.x when shaders are disabled. I have tried several combos of different mod versions of Iris/Sodium/Embeddium but nothing so far has made it go away. The logfile is full of the following message being spammed 100+ times a second (regardless of shaders being on or off): [Render thread/INFO]: OpenGL debug message: id=1282, source=API, type=ERROR, severity=HIGH, message='GL_INVALID_OPERATION error generated. Texture name does not refer to a texture object generated by OpenGL.' This is all a follow up from: https://discord.com/channels/881614130614767666/1349019163762491402/1349019163762491402 that might provide more context and another person with a similar issue as mine.

That looks like it might be a sodium/Iris issue. What I’m seeing is chunks loading in and flashing, which isn’t handled by DH.

The second part is not as shown in my post regarding the constant OpenGL error logging https://discord.com/channels/881614130614767666/1349036232969289831 I explicitly went ahead and ran DH 2.3.0-b standalone which would still cause the latest.log to rise in file size rather quickly for the main issue at hand, my guess would lean more towards Iris as even Embeddium + Monocle to avoid the use of Sodium manages to reproduce it

Issue persists with embeddium as well as switching to an older Iris version and it was not there at all in DH 2.2.x

can you swap in the latest to confirm once? ftr i was using 2.3.0-b before 2.3.1-b came out and both had this issue

I started the game with ONLY distant horizons (no Iris/Sodium, not even fabric API) and my logs instantly get spammed with the same OpenGL error, of course I can not replicate the shader glitch since that needs IRIS to be installed, but the rendering issue here is definitely in the latest Distant Horizons https://mclo.gs/FCHDhRd

I'm using a 4080 with driver 572.60 (latest is 572.70) In case it IS a driver issue, I'm in no hurry to update it

can't be as I am on 572.60 as well and am able to reproduce it consistently

man I love AV1 recordings not working on discord either way in conclusion it flashes and spams the console on more than just a single mod loader or minecraft version
