What staff do?
So, I'm currently building a Minecraft server, and we're currently discussing about the staff and roles. In our server there would be an Admin, Moderator, Builder and Developer. So my question is what permissions should the admin and the moderator have? And also for Builder is it better to hire people or have our own team? My consideration if we have our own team for the builders is that they don't always build every day or every month. They build when there's an event or something like that, should I pay them monthly or just for the build they do?

Admins should have whatever perms they need to complete their tasks. If they do backend config work, then you’d have to trust them with files access. Best not to op them and just give them whatever perms they need. Mods should have ban, mute, kick, jail, vanish, etc. Devs should need whatever perms they need to set up their plugins. Helpers/jr mods should probably have kick and mute. Builders, up to you man. It’s your business model.

How big will your server be?
Thanks for the suggestion! I really appreciate that.
For now, we would start with a small server first. But eventually we will scale it up.
how small?
Can you clarify your statement?
how small is the server
Is it by size or something?
I mean we're aiming for 30 players active for now
If there's still no answer, I'll mark this question as solved.
Admin is like management, recruiting staff, training, some moderación, etc
Developers are the ones that make the server, they need consolé and file access, they will build the server, test gameplay, find bugs, etc
Mods are mostly in charge of keeping the rules in check, ban cheaters, mute people, resolve disputes, etc
Helpers are usually people that are in training to become mod, can have small permissions like kick and temp mute to kinda moderate a bit, usually they are mostly players that still play on the server normally but also help other people and explain rules and features, and help admins/devs playtest
im having the same issue
