No these are not normal vans. These are the limited edition versions released only in Beijing (notice the extra stripe at the bottom). And I will explain why it’s cooler here:

Limited editions have started to feel redundant with the amount of limited editions there are of everything
It was different in the earlier days of streetwear and sneaker culture where there would be like 2-3 snaker collaborations per year and some would be region locked like the atmos japan airmax 1's
I think atp its more to drive consumer urgency than to make anything even remotely special most of the time

But seriously I agree with the above, I think the juice has been squeezed from limited editions and I'm kind of over it
They're fun to signal your interest in something to others with the same interest
If it's actually well-executed, it's nice, but like others have said, its been beaten to death as a way to generate consumer urgency and a sense of false scarcity.
if its something i was going to buy anyway, i do love having a special color scheme or somethin
My style doesn’t lend itself to many limited editions items but the red wings and Russell Moccasins for Japan are just way better than what’s available in the US
Items that are limited edition collabs or a particular style I think are worthwhile. A shoe that exists in 24 colorways already to get a limited 25th colorway feels silly to me. But it’s easier to decide that you want that color rather than what would be a whole new item
