Hair Perm Question
I'm thinking about getting a perm for a wavy/Korean hairstyle. I'm new to perms, but I think it could look great on me. I’ve received mixed answers on how to care for it, so I have a few questions:
1. Can I shower and shampoo my hair every day with a perm without it being affected? I typically shower daily including washing my hair with shampoo and conditioner as my hair naturally gets oily alot. Obviously not in the first stages of getting the perm, but perhaps after 2-3 weeks of getting the perm?
2. If not, what are some ways I can keep the perm looking good while still washing my hair?

this is a conversation to have with the hair tech giving you a perm
What about typical or in general? I didn't know it's more specific
you might have to change what kind of product you use (depends on your hair type) but that's also something they cover in the aftercare when you discuss/get a perm with them
Have u considered going bald? It's way easier and bald men have a certain machismo
you probably want to avoid washing your hair every day
do it like every 3 days
otherwise you will lose the perm rather fast
if you wash every day just expect to have to redo the perm like every month probably
if you do a digital perm over a regular perm it'll last longer as well
this!
a perm is probably not gonna make you look Korean though sorry to say

As someone who has had a perm before (just the wavy style, not the zoomer brococoli perm) i would say just do it
1.) Youre right about the first week of not washing as much, but after that IMO it's not really the washing that affects the perm (maybe it takes away the waviness but just reduces it to something like 70~80% as wavy as the fresh perm).
What really affects the perm is when it grows longer (think sometime approx 1.5~2 months in) and then you'll have the first few inches of fresh straight hair that just grew out of your scalp that leads to the wavy part of your hair--at a certain point your hair will grow longer and it wont look good, so you decide to get a cut
this cut is the inflection point of whether it will still look natural or weird, and it entirely depends on how your hairstylist will do it. of course the more you cut the less weird it will look but then you'll lose the waves faster. I think it will be fine if you go with a layered block cut
alternatively you can just perm again but its not worth it after just 2 months
FWIW i am southeast asian so i am visibly not korean although when i went on a trip to turkey this one guy from there excitedly gasped "omg squid game" so i guess that worked well enough
